Guitar and Bass Headstock Repairs
Below are a few example of guitar headstock breaks that have been repaired by Torbay Guitar Repairs. Headstock repairs are challenging repairs due to the tension that is applied to the headstock when the guitar is strung.
Some headstock repairs need to be pinned to add strength to the repair. The earlier a break is brought in for repair, normally the better the results.

Epiphone Black Beauty: the headstock was broken after being knocked off a stand, it was brought in being held together by the truss rod cover! The truss rod cover had to be reshaped flat, along with the repair being refinished after being repaired.
Jackson electric: This guitar was damaged while being shipped as it wasn't properly packed, a nasty multi break. It had to be sanded back to the wood with a replacement decal applied, it's a great example to show what a natural unfinished neck can look like after the repair!
Epiphone Vintage Texan: This guitar had it's headstock broken over 30 years ago, and then was stored in an attic. This made the repair extremely challenging to a lot of the wood had been lost and worn over time, added to the challenge was a previous attempted repair. The machineheads too had to be completely restored due to rust. The original picture was sent from the customer given an idea of the damaged involved.
"Great job can't recommend Lewis enough he has done a Stirling job of not only fixing neck but getting lacquer and finish to near perfection. Thanks" Mike - Headstock break repair on a Epiphone Les Paul Slash Signature series
