Does your Guitar need a Setup?
A professionally setup guitar can make all the difference to the playablity of your guitar! It can make a budget guitar play just as well as a high end guitar or bring back your prize beauty to the way it used to play. It's also very common for new guitars from the factory to require a setup, as due to the number of guitars produced in a day, the factory doesn't have time to setup each guitar.
When your guitar is set up by us, we set it to your own playing style so you get the setup you want! Below is an example of a setup, detailing all the checks and work that is done to a guitar to get it to its playing best.

This Fender Lone Star Stratocaster was brought into the workshop with high action and was uncomfortable to play!
The customer wanted the high action cured and the action lowered to suit his rock and blues playing style!
The pictures below show the problems to be sorted.........
The bridge was sitting far to high creating the high action, with the saddles needing adjusting as they were uneven.
There is also a picture of the backplate removed showing the tremolo springs ready for adjustment to cure the raised bridge.

The finished result....
As with all setups through the workshop the guitar had its intonation checked and set, action lowered and saddles set to match the fingerboard profile, the nut slots were also adjusted to the correct depth and the trussrod adjusted for the neck relief to be set.
The tremolo was balanced to the correct height off the body, the pickups were set to a balanced height from the strings.
The fingerboard gets a detail clean and fingerboard treatment with a detail clean over the whole guitar finishes the job and its ready to return to the customer.
