Project Guitar Builds
Many player today decide to build their own guitars/bass guitars as projects. This is a great way to build a guitar or bass the way you want, at a fraction of the price of a custom shop model. There are numerous kits now available on the market, along with nearly all major guitar part suppliers stocking a wide selection of the parts needed. The term "Partscaster" or "Frankenstrat" are commonly used as the Stratocaster and Telecaster designs are the most popular choices.
One of the services offered by Torbay Guitar Repairs, is a complete guitar project building service. This ranges from us completely assembling, fitting, wiring and then setting up the guitar, to carrying out certain aspects of the build which the customer feels unsure doing themselves. It also includes customers who wish us to completely upgrade all the hardware and pickups on their guitar to improve the sound and playability. We like to support the customer through their build, and we are happy to offer advice for any aspect that they decide to do themselves.
