This lovely 1960's Burns Sonic was brought into the workshop as sadly the owner had passed away, leaving his restoration project on his guitar unfinished. His wife wanted the guitar's restoration completed, as he had owned the guitar since new, so was brought to us to finish bringing the guitar back to it's former glory. The guitar had already been refinished, and with most of the original hardware present or replacements sourced. The only major part that was missing was the original bridge. A new zero nut would also need to be made, as well as a full assembly and setup |
The some of the original electronics had been replaced, along with the scratchplate (the original had disintegrated) but there were still a few issues with the wiring that needed to be sorted. Once completed, the sourced 1960 vintage bridge arrived and the guitar was reassembled for a setup. Some era correct screw were ordered in too as the originals had been lost sometime in the past. This was a really rewarding restoration and it was great to be able to restore this guitar back to how the owner originally had it new, back in the early 1960's. |
