80's Epiphone S300 Electronics upgrade and fret dress

This rare 80’s Epiphone S300 was recently in the workshop for upgraded electronics and a fret dress!
We’d previously done a setup on it a few years ago and it was great to have it back in the workshop for us to look after!

The ageing pots were removed and replaced with upgraded CTS pots, to ensure years more playing with problem.

Below shows the recrowning and hand polish procedure, which removes/ reduces the flat spots on the frets and removes the wear marks on the frets from years of playing.

Once done the frets are restored to a smooth feel, improving noted intonation and clearer ringing of the notes. Bending also feels smoother with no strings dragging on the frets.

With all the work finished, it was restrung with a fresh set of strings ready for it's owner to enjoy once more!
