The owner had previously tried to fit a premanufactured bone nut with limited success, causing damage to the bass and resulting with an unplayable bass!
Below shows some of the process of making a new bone nut, hand cut to fit the bass perfectly.
The new nut fitted with some work done to tidy up the damage at the end of the fingerboard
They’d also badly damaged the fingerboard removing the original plastic nut. This was solved by mixing rosewood dust together with special wood glue, then the filled area sanded back once the mixture had dried.
