This Warwick Star bass was brand new, yet the owner had fret buzz, no matter how much he adjusted the action and neck. As it turned out, the frets weren't even so he brought it in for a fret level, recrown and polish.

You can see where the customer tried to sort the high frets himself in desperation, after he was told he would have to return it to Germany to have it sorted under manufactures guarantee.

The frets after the level, you can see the grey dust where the high spots on the frets were, this is why we always mask a fingerboard when working on a guitar, protecting it from any damage or dirt.

The next step is to recrown the frets to give their curve and correct profile, then they are polished! Once the fret work is complete, the tape is removed and the board is treated with lemon oil.
The finished job, after tweaks to lower the action to get the playability the customer wanted, it's ready for the customer to collect!
