This Ibanez was in for a headstock repair, after the previous owner had thrown the guitar across the room! Amazingly the damage was no way near as bad as it could of been, with the break only running down the top end of the neck.
The first step was injecting glue down the split and then clamping, to return stability to the neck, colour matching was easy on this one being a black finish. Once the cracks were hidden, the lacquer could be applied.

The finish was a matt lacquer finish, which is a little tricker than a standard finish, due to the fact that the lacquer cannot be flattened as it will cause the lacquer to form a shine. The surface had to be perfectly prepped so the lacquer would apply evenly.
Once the lacquer had cured, the hardware was refitted, and the guitar was restrung, and ready to collect!
