First job was fitting the new posts, as this would determine how much wood would need to be removed to increase the cavity size.
The next step was marking out then removing the wood. The finish was carefully scalped back to prevent any cracking or flaking on the rest of the body. Then the wood was carefully paired away by chisel only removing what was needed. The tremolo was trial fitted to ensure complete free movement of the new tremolo. The tremolo cavity was then sanded smooth and stained to match in with the existing cavity. The cavity was then finished with a couple of coats of lacquer to protect the wood. |
