This Ibanez RG was brought in to the workshop for a restoration, after being left in storage for a number of years. What didn't help the matter further is that it had been stored in a slightly damp area, combined with the old sweat on the guitar, it has corroded all the hardware, especially the bridge. Fortunately the neck had't warped so the guitar was treated to a complete strip down detail clean, electronics rewire and a setup! |
The tremolo was completely disassembled, and soaked in a special mixture to kill off the rust and loosen the parts, before it was oiled and reassembled. The body was also given a detail clean, removing the mould and grime from the tremolo cavity, before the body of the guitar was hand buffed back to a shine. The frets and the fingerboard were also cleaned and treated too. Once the guitar was reassembled it was setup and ready to be used once more by it's owner! |
