This LTD was brought into the workshop, as the previous owner had stuck a sticker on the guitar, and then sprayed lacquer over the guitar to protect the sticker. The area hadn't been masked off, so all the hardware and even the fretboard had overspray covering it. To make matters worse, they hadn't even cleaned the guitar beforehand, so dust and dirt was trapped within the lacquer! All the lacquer and the sticker were to be removed, and new pickups fitted. There was also some damage to the end of the headstock which the customer wanted sorting too. |
After careful removal of the decal, the overspray lacquer was buffed away, a long process but with a very rewarding result. The new pickups could then be fitted and wired in, where budget allowed, new hardware was fitted to replace the old lacquer covered hardware. At the same time the end of the headstock was sorted, and the neck and fingerboard were given a good clean, before the guitar was reassembled and setup for the customer to enjoy his new guitar! |
