This cool Squire ‘Hello Kitty’ Stratocaster was in for customisation! A new Hipshot bridge was fitted along with a Bare Knuckles Nazgul fitted with custom series/parallel switching. Plus a new hand cut bone nut and a setup for dropped tuning to complete the project! The customer had already purchased all the parts and dissembled certain parts of the guitar in advance! |
The scratchplate fitted and the bridge reassembled, you can just about make out the old holes as pink is a very hard colour to colour match! The new bridge plate fitted with the new pickup fitted too! The custom wiring with a CTS pushpull pot for series/parallel switching the pickup. The old nut was very cheap plastic and was one of the hardest nuts we’ve ever had to remove. It was down to the fact it had been cemented in using superglue while the nut material itself was extremely soft. |
Another job that we sorted, the customer had tried screwing in the new string trees and the screw had snapped off in the headstock, we had to carefully file the screw flush with the headstock before we could mount the new stringtree. With some careful positioning of the new string tree, you couldn't tell there was any problem to begin with. With all the work completed, the guitar was fully setup for dropped tuning before being ready for the customer! |
