The repair had been extremely well done, miracle it was saved, although it did mean that the guitar is weaker due to what it had been through. This made handling the guitar a delicate process. However, the owner still gigs it regularly!
The frets were dressed in the standard way. First the board was masked off for protection, before the tops of the frets were masked to ensure that the level tops of the frets were not affected during the recrowning process.
Once the curved profile had been filed back into the frets, the frets were hand polished to a shine. The fingerboard was cleaned and treated with lemonoil before a new set of strings were strung up on the guitar!
