This 80's Japanese Tokai Springy Sound was brought into the workshop for a restoration to bring it back to original factory spec. The two photos below are from the customer, before and after the restoration.
  |  The main part of the restoration was reverting the guitar back to 3 single coil pickups rather than the home modified humbucker at the bridge. The old scratchplate with the humbucker was removed, as a new custom scratchplate supplied by the customer was fitted. This was then aged along with the new pickup cover and control knobs to blend in with the aged parts already on the guitar. An era correct pickup had been sourced and supplied by the customer. The guitar was then treated to a detail clean and full setup before being ready for the customer to collect! |
