The repair involved cutting and fitting a replacement piece of plastic, after tidying up the broken base. This turned into a bit of a challenge finding a plastic thin enough to match the exsiting platform, but strong enough that it didn't bend. The solution was an off cut of scratchplate plastic, that had to be thicknessed down before being shaped to fit! With the nut refitted and now fully adjustable, the bass action could be set to the owners playing style! |
This ace Warwick Corvette was brought in after taking a fall on stage, luckily the only damage to the bass was the adjustable nut, which it's base had broken off. This did mean that the bass became unplayable, as the action at the nut dropped to the strings resting on the frets!
